Kay Davenport

Kay was born in Birmingham in 1969 and has been painting since she was a child.
She moved to Lichfield in Staffordshire in her late teens where she attended Lichfield Collage of Art & Design.

Kay was painting contemporary pet portraits for many years part time, before she eventually started painting for a living in 2006.

Using traditional mediums of oil pastels and watercolours in her previous work, Kay sought newer mediums to use and eventually found resins dyes inks and pastes which she has been using for the past 5 years.

Kay relocated to Cyprus in 2007 and became a popular figure in the local art community and became a founder member of FITA {females in the arts} Cyprus, before returning to the UK in late 2010

When viewed at close quarters, Kay’s artwork is reminiscent of cooled molten glass that has run onto the canvas containing rivers of vibrant colours, layers of interesting shadows and each step you take towards or backwards from the artwork it seems to take on a “chameleon almost” camouflage as you notice aspects of the painting that you never noticed before.
